He New York City Hall (New York) approved $17.5 million in improvements for New York City/Elmhurst Health + Hospitals in New York, which primarily serves low-income and minority communities, according to the website gothamist.com.
The funding includes $4.5 million for the relocation of the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit and a $4.5 million expansion of the MRI suite.
As part of the improvements, the 545-bed facility will also add a maternal and child laboratory and a surgical subspecialty suite for hand surgery services and improve the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
