Today, the Chancellor of the United Kingdom, Rachel Reeve, delivered the 2024 budget to Parliament. This was a budget of firsts, not only the first budget of a new government, but the first to be delivered by a Minister of Finance.
There were many announcements within the budget: an increase in employers’ contributions to National Insurance, an increase in the national living wage and an increase in capital gains tax.
