Friday Faves 1.12 – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! How are you? I hope you had a wonderful week! It was the kids’ first week back at school (wah), so we’re back into the routine and I’m already counting down the days until Rodeo break. <— it's an Arizona thing, but we always look forward to a couple of days off in February.

What are you doing this weekend? We’ll do a sushi and movie night, go on a hike, and meet up with some friends in Scottsdale. I hope you have a fun weekend!

I started a 14-Day EquiLife Detox before heading to CBO protocol. I’ll do a whole post on everything, but let me know if I can help with any questions or include anything in the post.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and from around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so shout out something you like in the comments section below.

Friday Favorites 1.12

Life:

Liv is 12 years old! I can’t even believe it. She’s officially a *tween* and very bright, smart, hilariously sarcastic, and I love her passion for dancing, skincare, and music.

She asked for a homemade cake instead of a bakery cake, so P and I made her this:

We spent the day at the mall shopping, boba, and ramen with her best friend, and then had cake with my mom and nana. Disneyland was her big celebration, so we had a lovely low-key day on her birthday.

Italki! I was googling ways to practice Spanish and this had great reviews. The short story is that my mother’s side of the family speaks Spanish, but while she was growing up, she always responded in English. I studied Spanish in college and read novels and wrote essays, but we spent very little time talking. So, although I understand it very well and can write, and I prefer Spanish music to English, I’m not very confident speaking it.

I signed up to italki and I had my first lesson this week. It was very pleasant to PRACTICE and Get advice from a professional. Eventually I would love to record some exercise videos in Spanish or help individual clients in Spanish, so I feel like this is a great step forward.

Read, watch, listen:

Sakara delights! My friends from Sakara sent a sample of their January Restart Program, which I enjoyed earlier this week. It was an incredible treat when we returned from Disneyland. You still have two more chances to join their reboot. I did a whole blog post about it here and you can use XOGINAH for 20% off. throughout the site. I enjoyed the jackfruit neighborhood taco (very good), the protein banana bread, the apple cider muffin, the Thai curry bowl, and all the delicious and beautiful salads.
