I’m sharing my 2024 holiday gift guide for kids this year! We tend to stick to the purchasing strategy of: “Something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.”
Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I hope you are well and that all your preparation for Thanksgiving is going swimmingly. I have a couple of last-minute to-dos, but I’m sneaking off to a yoga class with a friend.
I’m so excited for today’s gift guide because kids really bring magic to Christmas. I’m basically like Buddy the Elf and I thought nothing could make the season more enjoyable… and then we had kids. They simply magnify all the magic of the holidays. We’re doing our Christmas shopping early, so I wanted to share some ideas if you’re doing the same.
When holiday shopping for the kids, we keep things on the simpler side. They get their gifts from Santa and Christmas decorations, and then on our part we stick to “something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.” This checks all the major boxes and keeps things from getting too crazy with gifts from my parents and their other family members. [Another hack: any gifts that aren’t opened in the first couple of days are stocked away in the playroom. I bring them out on a rainy day or when the kids say they’re looking for something to do.]

– electric wheels. We made these when we lived in Georgia and the girls went crazy for them.
Something you need:
– New Ugg boots << raincoats last longer

– Experiential gifts are always a hit, like tickets to a museum or an activity they enjoy, or memberships to the Children’s Museum or indoor trampoline park.
–Sleeping bag that converts into a backpack
– Practice objective and a new soccer ball
Something to wear:
– a festive dress or elegant jacket
– Nutcracker and pajamas book.
