Happy October, Happy Anniversary!

October always begins many special dates starting with our wedding anniversary. (If you’re new, check out all my wedding posts here!)

Anniversary dinner at Fleurie

To celebrate seven years we went to flower! I would firmly say that Fleurie is the most elegant restaurant in Cville. The entire dining experience is simply exceptional! We had a wonderful evening sitting on the patio.

The menu is three courses, but you get a LOT of little surprises during the meal.

Like the sample to get started! I loved the beetroot with truffled goat cheese and blackberry on the right.

I started with the herb salad which was amazing. I truly believe that fresh herbs are the key to taking a salad from good to great.

My favorite bite of the night was this smoked salmon salad topped with lemon dill panna cotta.

For my main course I chose the filet mignon with homemade gnocchi and a Bordeaux mixture. Chef’s kiss!

Apple pie with very soft vanilla ice cream and lots of salted caramel. Thomas’ chocolate bomb was pretty epic too!

Last sweets of the night!

spooky season

October 1 also marks permission to bring out all things Halloween. Our neighbor, Annie, loves Halloween and got a head start much to Birch’s delight. We’ve been stopping by to see what skeletons have been removed since the day before.

“Mom, take a photo of me with these tombstones.”

garden kitten

Ellen’s cat Millie was feeling the spooky vibes too!

Remembering what it feels like to have a baby on your hip!

My little darling <3

It’s hard to believe Birch was so small! We can barely pick it up now. But he’s still just as snuggled up.

Luke Bryan Farm Tour 2024

If you caught me reel on instagramI went to Smithton, PA for a quick visit for the Luke Bryan Farm Tour. The Farm Tour is more than a concert for 20,000 people in a field: it’s a way to raise awareness about rural care deserts and increase access for those who are hungry. Farmers work tirelessly to provide the food that so many Americans depend on. The Farm Tour is part of Bayer’s broader “Take Care, Now” campaign to raise awareness, educate communities and facilitate access to health and nutrition. I had a great time helping promote #HeresToTheFarmer. This fall, use #HerestotheFarmer to celebrate America’s farmers, and Bayer will donate up to 1 million meals to people in need through Feeding America. Join the campaign and show your support from now until November 30.

Vice President Debate

Well, that was interesting 🙂

Big fan of Chris’s Snacklebox!

folex

Also a big fan of folex! We had water coming out of our basement foundation during heavy rains in September. I thought maybe we would have to replace the carpet! But once everything dried, Folex removed the stains in less than a minute.

Kath eats real food

Small selection of foods! blue apron has new 15-minute meals that come with already cooked meats and/or grains. This quinoa dish was one! We cooked the chicken and peppers but the quinoa was ready to heat and eat. I love how quick and easy they are! Get 50% off the first 4 weeks of a new subscription here.

Have a great weekend!
