8.16 Friday Faves – The Fitnessista

Hey friends! Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend? It’s a pretty normal weekend around here: basketball, dancing, time with friends, and time to plan and catch up on the week ahead. Plus, it’s our anniversary 🙂 I’m looking forward to family dinners with my favorite people – I can’t believe I married the Starbucks guy and I feel blessed every day for this beautiful life we have together.

I’d love to know what you’re planning to do this weekend.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Favorites Party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and from around the internet. I always love to hear what your favorites are too, so please mention something you like in the comments section below.

8.16 Friday Favorites

Fashion + beauty + random:

New Amazon watch strapI bought this to wear with “real people” clothes, aka non-workout clothes, and the quality is surprisingly good!

I love this gentle scrub. It is not too abrasive for sensitive skin and is also fragrance free.

Tangled! Our girls’ friend had one of these and loved it so I bought the girls one. The hype is real! It detangles hair painlessly and while Moroccan oil always helps, this has been a game changer with everything they’ve done.

Read, watch, listen:

The girls and I have been reading old books. American Girl Books Bedtime stories and those with friends have stood the test of time. They are as charming and interesting as I remember and the kids have adored them. It has been fun to share what introduced me to historical fiction when I was P’s age.

My friend Ana and I went to see Ends with us The other night, going to a midweek movie with a friend seemed like a huge treat, and it was SO good. The book was okay for me (I understand the hype, but I don’t think I’m the most engaging author, please don’t blame me), but the movie was excellent. The cast was A+++ and it was very well done.

Mindset changes to reduce the need for external validation.

Fitness, health, life and good nutrition:

I’m looking for quick, tasty, and healthy dinner recipes to vary our usual rotation. I’m back in school and activities are alternating with the kids, and sometimes we get home at dinner time (or after dinner). We have our usual favorites, but if you have any family meals you love that I can make ahead of time, in 15-20 minutes, or in the Instant Pot, I’d really appreciate your recommendations!

I’ve started using Nutrisense again and have found it very helpful to see the data after a summer of restaurant food in Spain and Hawaii. This fall I’m focusing on blood sugar and hormones and this is one of my favorite tools. You can check out my full review here and use it GINA50 here for $50 off.

Sale of functional tests! Both Starter Kit and the Big 5 They are on sale until Sunday. They only come out twice a year. If you are interested in doing a little research to find the real causes of how you feel, I highly recommend these tests. They have helped me when I thought things were hopeless and they are the tests I read every day for clients and friends. If you decide to purchase the tests, I will be happy to help you. Big 5 kit or starter kit, Please email me at gina@fitnessista.com with the subject line TEST and your order number, and I’d be happy to give you a courtesy call to go over your results with you.

Please note: We’re doing another community detox in September, so I’ll have all the details next week!

Have a great weekend and see you soon! Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Kisses and hugs

Gina
