What outcomes should we target to improve health outcomes and overall well-being? – Healthcare Economist

He Rippel Foundation has an interesting framework for describing the dimensions for improving individual health and overall quality of life. This is part of its mission to guide “transformative change that supports better health and well-being for all – a future where everyone thrives, without exception.” The organization identified relevant desirable health and well-being outcomes as “living conditions.” These are listed and defined below:

The Rippel Foundation’s argument is that by addressing these vital conditions early on, the need for more urgent or acute interventions, such as the need to address acute injuries, addictions, crime, environmental clean-up, unemployment or homelessness, can be avoided.

This is not just a healthcare or public health initiative, but would require the participation of the entire community to transform local communities and economies. This is certainly a useful framework for any interdisciplinary effort aimed at improving the well-being of local communities.
