Running out of Beautycounter products and looking for the next best clean alternative? Here are some Beautycounter swaps with new clean beauty brands. All links are affiliate links.

Ever since Beautycounter announced its temporary closure, I’ve been going crazy for my beloved skincare routine. What’s a girl to do when she runs out of Supreme Cream and Overnight Resurfacing Peel? After all, I’ve been using Beautycounter products consistently for over 5 years, and I know some of you have too!

Using Beautycounter for almost everything was very easy. Now I’m back to the drawing board to find products that I like and that work well.

To start, I have ordered products or am receiving samples from a few brands. Here are those brands and why they are on my short list. I want this to be a real exploratory phase, much like I had when I started using Beautycounter, so I’ll share some thoughts on new options as I try them out.

Clean Beauty Brands I’m Trying

olive – Many fellow Beautycounter consultants love and recommend these European waterless products; I have been using them for a week and LOVE THEM! The products are selling out faster than they can make them because it has been very popular, so keep checking the website or go to my beauty email list for first alerts. Hydroxytyrosol (HT) is the olive extract elixir found in every product. It is a bioactive liquid that replaces water in formulas. All Oliveda formulations are designed to be highly effective, additive-free and sustainable.

Please note that many of the Oliveda products have been so popular that they sell out like crazy. I have a list of the best products in stock near the end of this post!

Girl Rothschild – I tried some CR products in 2023 and really loved them. You know I’m a scent girl and the products smell divine! They feel luxurious and high-end. While they don’t have as strict standards for ingredients (particularly fragrances) as some of the others, they are clean. They do not use many questionable ingredients such as parabens, sulfates or formaldehyde in their products.

crunchy – My friend Anna is a fertility blogger and non-toxic living expert. She is also a part of Beautycounter, so I asked her what the cleanest makeup she recommends and she recommended Crunchi. If you can get past the name, Crunchi seems to be a company really comparable to Beautycounter. They do not use synthetic colors or test for heavy metals like BC did. They do makeup and skincare, but I’ll focus on using them for makeup. I’m so glad to see that they have talc-free powders: eyeshadow palettes, powder bronzers, highlighters, blushes, and everything that Beautycounter had discontinued.

Ten cents – You have probably heard of this brand; many of their products are verified by EWG. They are also much more affordable than some of the other luxury brands. I love Wonderscreen as a trade-in for BC’s Dew Skin!

There are MANY more, but I’m trying to focus on these instead of being overwhelmed by the hundreds of brands out there!

Here are some swaps for Beautycounter products and their equivalents in the brands above.

Countercontrol

If you use any of Beautycounter’s Countercontrol products (I personally don’t), you may find the Colleen Rothschild Smooth Sheer Skincare Set to be a comparable swap.

Make up

I still have a lot of BC makeup, so I’m trying not to buy too much in this department.

Dew Skin is my number one product from BC and I just received the DIME Tinted Glitter Wonder Screen. It’s really nice!!!! It has SPF and the tint has similar coverage. I think it’s a little more gel-like, while Dew Skin has a little more moisturizing texture.

Some products I’m trying:

  1. Mask – Buy the Shattered Mascara and it is very similar to the one from Beautycounter in terms of the wand and the formula. The tube is made from thick glass as part of its commitment to reducing plastic. In fact, I think it runs less than BC! I also have the DIME Volume mask as I love their lash enhancing serum, but I don’t love the wand as much as the Crunchi.
  2. Base – The Crunchi Beautifully flawless foundation It’s a little thicker than BC, but the texture, blendability, and coverage are good. If you need a new foundation, try it! I ordered shade 2.5 and it is very similar to BC. Review the Crunchi Shade Finder Test to combine with foundation and concealer shades.
  3. Shade – I’m so glad I found out that Crunchi has talcum-free powder! I got this cool toned shadow palette that has a purple, a gray, and a shimmer: Blooming Shadow Bar.
  4. Bronzer – Review the Solarize tanning duo
  5. highlighter pen – They also have a Luminescence® Highlighter for those of you who love glitter.

Oliveda In Stock Recommendations

If you took the test and the recommended is not in stock, don’t worry! All of Oliveda’s products are fantastic and only have slight differences in what they do, so there are many products that will work for everyone. Here is a list of the best recommended products that are Currently in stock!

  • Antioxidant facial cream (F05) – Similar to the BC Gentle Cream, this is a lighter cream ideal as a daytime moisturizer. Refreshes and gives body to tired skin, while preventing dryness and the penetration of free radicals. It’s a great price too!
  • Intense Regenerating Facial Cream (F74) – Similar to the BC Supreme Cream, this is a luxurious thick night cream packed with extra olive leaf cells that the company is famous for. It also has no fragrance, but I think it smells a little like honey yogurt (in a good way!). I’ve been using it day and night, so it’s not too intended for daytime.
  • Midnight Corrective Elixir (F65) – Similar to BC’s Overnight Rejuvenating Peel, this is an overnight anti-aging product that does many things at once. Oliveda’s “Corrective” line is their best anti-aging line.
  • Corrective Vegan Hyaluronic Serum (F86): Similar to the BC radiance serum, this serum is designed to work to make the skin look elastic and plump thanks to its dose of hyaluronic acid.
  • Honey Enzymatic Mask (F76) – This is a bestseller and similar to the BC AHA mask. This enzymatic exfoliating mask frees the skin of dead cells, refines pores and leaves the complexion radiant and uniform. Honey moisturizes the skin and has a calming effect. It’s also a great price under $55.
  • Arbequina Cleansing Oil (F78) – similar to BC cleansing oil, removes makeup and refreshes with hydroxytyrosol, vitamin E, French lavender and argan.
