If we have vision, we can transform universal access to spectacles | Blogs

2030 SPECIFICATIONS

Sightsavers is part of WHO’s SPECS 2030 initiative, which envisions a world where all people with refractive errors can access quality, affordable, people-centred refractive error services. Achieving a 40 percentage point increase in effective coverage of refractive error services is an ambitious goal, but one that can be achieved if we have the vision to make it a reality.

With 32 organisations, including Sightsavers, on board, we are using an “all-hands-on-deck” approach that engages and mobilizes all stakeholders at global, regional and national levels. It is a fact that when we focus our attention on an issue collectively, there is nothing we cannot do.

This international movement is therefore an exciting opportunity to create global momentum, catalyze change at the national level, keep our sights set on achieving the goal of effective coverage of refractive error services, and ensure universal access to refractive error services. People-centered refractive errors.
