Sunrise Medical has launched its lightest folding electric wheelchair, the QUICKIE Q50 R Carbon. The ultra-lightweight portable chair is designed for ambulatory wheelchair users and full-time wheelchair users who want a travel-friendly power chair option.
The QUICKIE Q50 R Carbon includes a carbon fiber frame, magnesium wheels and motors, and breathable upholstery, all for a total carrying weight of 32 pounds. When folded, it takes up a footprint of 30.2 inches long, 22.4 inches wide and 14.6 inches high, small enough to fit in the trunk of a Toyota Camry. The Q50 R Carbon has a top speed of 3.7 mph and a maximum range of 7.5 miles, or 15 miles with the optional second battery. Powered by airline-approved lithium-ion batteries.
The Q50 R Carbon also comes standard with rear running lights, storage for a second battery and a carrying strap.
“The Q50 R Carbon is ideal for many people who want to be more independent and travel further,” says Jeff Rogers, director of energy product management at Sunrise Medical. “This chair is a great alternative to the scooter, since it is easier to transport, more maneuverable and easier to store. “It is also a great second chair for some manual chair users who would like the power to go further and for some power chair users who want a chair that is easier to transport.”
The Q50 R Carbon is available in five colors and starts at $3,595. For more information visit Medical Dawn.
