Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie

This Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie is a dream. I love adding the word “cheesecake” to any recipe I can find.

Who doesn’t want to read about cheesecake? If this blog were more fun, I could also rant about meatloaf (my favorites are Daniel Craig and Edris Elba, who I’d like to add are age-appropriate meatloafs, since I’m 49).

This recipe is actually not a version real cheesecake. There are plenty of blogs about cheesecake and they are much more popular than mine. Dessert blogs are some of the biggest food blogs out there.

I often wonder how much money I could have made if I had chosen to write about awesome cupcakes.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with a fake cheesecake and today we can make it in a blender without cheese. This recipe works because it uses Greek yogurt, which is naturally tangy (like cream cheese), and a touch of citrus that is key to making it taste like cheesecake.

I don’t know exactly why this recipe is so perfect, but it is. You don’t need fresh strawberries to make this smoothie, making it more affordable and easier to make without having to go to the grocery store. However, you can use them and you will increase the YUM factor!

If you don’t have a citrus zester, now is your time. The taste of lemon peel is a calorie-free spectacle, but if you dig deeper into the white pith, it’s too bitter.

My citrus zester is one of my favorite single-use kitchen tools (see below) because it works! I make two servings of this and then save some for the next day.

Feel free to cut the recipe in half to make just one of these for a seasonal snack.
