my friend julia has made some “one photo an hour” style blog posts that are a fun way to share a day in the life. Here is mine!
One photo per hour
Every time I try to do a ‘day in the life’, I get to lunch and then give it up completely. I thought following Julie’s “one photo an hour” style might help me stay on track, and I even set a reminder on my phone to go off 24 hours a day. Still I still It fell off a little bit, but I think you’ll still have a great idea of the day! It’s funny to me how well I stayed on the streaming lifestyle blogging train and now I can barely stay afloat!
6:30 am – Coffee + Computer in Bed
If I go to bed on time (9:30/10) I wake up naturally at 6:30. The best days are when I can wake up a little before Birch joins me in bed! I always do Wordle, Connections, emails and maybe some small tasks.
7:30 – School rush
Mazen’s bus arrives at 8, so I’m always struggling a little to prepare breakfast. I should get up earlier hahaha! Mazen doesn’t eat much in the mornings; The typical thing is toast with butter and milk or cereal. Birch is my oatmeal lover and can eat breakfast! I usually empty the dishwasher while they eat and then go to the bus stop to Mazen. I love school buses!
Once Mazen was out the door, I drank my AG1 smoothie!
8:30 am – Walk to preschool
I try to walk most days for at least part of the school day (mornings in summer when it’s cool, afternoons in winter when it’s hot). Birch is allowed to walk as much as he wants, but he still really likes to relax in the stroller (who wouldn’t!?). I’ll be sad next year when we’re a little too far away for the daily walks to elementary school. school. Plus, this day was totally unseasonably warm! A rare pleasure in February. I love getting fresh air and exercise first thing in the morning and listening to a podcast while I walk home in the empty stroller.
9:15 am – Work + Coffee
I finished the last sips of coffee and started working on the island.
11am – Power Walk with Gus!
Since it was a non-gym day and very hot, I put on some shorts and took Gus for a long walk on the greenway near my house.
12:00 – Shower time!
+ Skin care routine 🙂
12:30 – Lunch
I made a big salad with arugula, roast chicken, gorgonzola and a little chixmix (they sent me as a sample!) and my favorite orange marmalade dressing.
1:00 – Back to work!
After lunch I had two more hours before I had to take Birch to school. I worked on some blog posts and also did some adulting, including summer camp research and tax scanning.
3:00 pm – Birch is home!
I picked it up in the car today because of time. He brought home an impressive painting from South America in honor of where his grandparents were! Next: all the snacks.
15:30 – Mazen is home!
Once again TGF school buses. What great time savers! We have one new ninja rope And Mazen will be able to climb to the top! It’s very hard on the hands.
16:30 – Unpacking
We opened the mail and a package that Wild Planet sent me! Of course I loved the sardines, but I can’t wait to try these salad packets too.
6:30 pm – Dinner time!
Skip forward two hours to cook and prepare dinner! we made a green chef meal with pesto salmon, sweet potatoes and peppers with a splash of yogurt, always! This is a non-alcoholic wine. Relieve! (Get 20% off with code KATHEATS if you want to try!)
7 pm – Puzzle time!
While Birch and Thomas got ready for bath time, I did some thinking. My parents lent us this Beatles puzzle. It’s old!
7:30 pm – Birch Bedtime
Thomas usually bathes Birch (while I do fur care in the same room). Then they fight for a while. Then I usually read books, songs and go to bed. This little boy loves to snuggle!
8:30 pm – Outlander + Jenis
Mazen has VR time until 8:30 (after he showers) and I tuck him in. We usually start a program and pause it when you are ready for bed, and then finish it if there is time, depending on when we start it. We are in season 6 of Outlander and we love it.
Also: I’m not a fruity ice cream girl, but Jenis’s Brambleberry is just amazing. There are pieces of oat streusel!
9:30 pm – Bedtime
We headed to brush our teeth and read in bed. The Kindle light is on until 10!
