The Easiest Bagel Recipe on the Planet

2 ingredient dough bagels? Yeah! Frankly, I was skeptical of this famous Weight Watcher’s recipe.

I’m a bagel snob. You’ll never find a fake supermarket bagel in my house. As a former New Yorker, I also travel to Quebec every year.

Have you ever tried a Montreal bagel? They cook them in a wood oven. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water.

Since I’m not going anywhere or buying anything, I decided to try this 2-ingredient dough recipe because I heard rave reviews.

Notice how the photo includes four ingredients, don’t worry! Seasoning and egg are optional.

If you don’t have self-rising flour you can prepare it with 1 cup of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. This bag was actually the only flour I found at my local grocery store.

This condiment can be found Trader JoeWalmart, Costco, and you can do it!

Everything except sesame bagel seasoning mix with sea salt, garlic and onion is really wonderful to add to these bagels or anything that needs a little zip. This is also great with avocado toast.

I don’t like trying healthy baked goods because they tend to be a flop. My healthy blueberry banana oatmeal muffins recipe and my pumpkin angel food cake recipe are exceptions.

To make 2-ingredient dough bagels all you have to do is mix the yogurt and flour in a bowl until it forms a sticky dough.

You pour that dough onto a floured surface with well-floured hands.

Knead the dough (adding flour as you go) until you reach the point of having an elastic and non-sticky dough. This should take about three minutes.

Now comes the fun part! You can make shapes! Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll it into a 7-inch long tube. Bring the ends of the tube together and pinch them to form a circle.

You can put them in the oven without any garnishes or you can add a beaten egg (just a beaten egg white spread on the bagel) and a little seasoning.

You can get everything but the bagel or you can add whatever you have in your spice drawer: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, kosher salt, a pinch of cumin, cinnamon, whatever!

You can mix in raisins or chocolate chips if you want to give it an elegant touch.

These bake for about 30 minutes at 375 F.

These don’t come out like a dense muffin, they are fluffier like an English muffin, BUT they are absolutely delicious. Like mmm!

Have you tried making 2 ingredient dough bagels? How did it go? What did you put on them or in them?
