Ingredients
APPLE CAKE BROWN BUTTER COOKIES
Apple topping:
- ½ tablespoon of butter
- ½ green apple, cubed
- ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Crumble:
- 1 tablespoon almond flour
- 1 teaspoon no-calorie sweetener
- ½ tablespoon butter, melted
Cream:
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Mix the crumble ingredients until clumps form.
- Spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 5 minutes. Let cool.
- Make the apple in a small saucepan, add the butter over medium heat.
- Once melted, add the apple pieces, cinnamon and salt and stir to coat.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes and the apples are tender. Get away from heat.
- In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese and butter until well blended.
- Add the remaining glaze ingredients and mix until combined.
- Transfer to a piping bag and top the cookies with icing followed by crumble and apple pieces.
- Cut the cookies into 4 pieces and serve.
